Andrea Mitchell
Andrea Mitchell, an American journalist and a commentator working as a commentator for NBC News in Washington D.C. She is also a television anchor. She received an undergraduate degree in English literature from the University of Pennsylvania after growing to be a part of New York City. Mitchell joined KYW Radio and TV as an Philadelphia reporter in the year 1967. She joined the CBS station WDVM-TV (then WTOP) in Washington DC in 1976. She was hired by NBC News Washington two years later as a general reporter. She began covering the White House in 1981 and was named chief correspondent for the congressional office in 1988. Mitchell was appointed chief White House reporter in 1992 as well as the chief Foreign Affairs correspondent at NBC News. Mitchell hosted and was a panelist at the TV program Meet the Press. Mitchell was a panelist at the debates in 1988 between George Bush & Michael Dukakis. Mitchell is married with Alan Greenspan, former Chairman of the Federal Reserve Board. Mitchell was awarded numerous honors for her journalism achievements, such as her Goldsmith Career Award from John F. Kennedy School of Government in 2005. She was also honored by the Leonard Zeidenberg Award presented by the Radio-Television News Directors Association in 2004. Mitchell reported on in the White House first for NBC News between 1981 and 1988, between the terms of Ronald Reagan's second term as president. Her reporting included a number of crucial stories such as the Iran-contra scandal, the tax and budget reforms in addition to the arms control. She traveled widely along with the president Reagan during summits with Mikhail Gorbachev.
